a walk in the woods

Every year I try to sneak away on a little self-retreat to think about the year ahead, plan + refocus my energy.  I never want to lose sight of why I started this business + followed my passion.  When you're a bookkeeper, secretary, photographer, editor, submitter, stylist, supporter, homeowner, partner, volunteer [ insert other identities ] you can be easily overwhelmed by the to-do list.  I've been guilty of this, almost to the point of not even wanting to pick up my camera, but to leave it locked away until absolutely necessary.

That's why personal time, photos, adventures are so good.  It makes you look at the same scenery + reinvent it. It allows you to see the same canvas very differently.  Because of my busy schedule [ surprise, surprise ], I didn't have a chance to get away for a whole weekend, but I did have a chance to take a long walk through the woods this morning with my favorite little puppy.  It was extra special because the snow was falling.

This was the first time since July that I took photos just for the simple pleasure of doing so.  Happy Saturday + Enjoy!
